Farmington Festival Days Race

We love the Farmington Festival Days celebration in July. Love the town, love the parade, love my family that comes out to it. This year, Ashley and Sarah did the 5k Saturday morning. I supervised the girls, or ran with them. Ashley took off after the half way point and finished slightly ahead of us. I was proud of them for doing it without really 'training'. I feel my kids are healthy and active, and this shows we are doing okay!
It was exciting that Sarah placed in her age group! 2nd place! Go Sarah! Other family members placed too, so it was fun for the entire family!
Then breakfast and the parade! Love the day!

Gatrell crew! 3 generations running the race! Go us!

My cousin Daryl is the "D". LOVE Davis, LOVE the marching band!

Super Quick & Super Big & Super Cool post

Highlights from post Memorial Day to today-more to come.....I hope......

Grandpa Jack joined me at Antelope Island for a field trip for Ashley's class. Ashley's fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Thayne retired at the end of this school year, and this was one last going away party for her. I supplied the grill to cook the hot dogs. Ashley INSISTED we do it! It was a fun trip out there. Windy! Seagulls! But it was good!

Only a 100+ hot dogs were consumed by the two 4th grade classes and families/chaperone's that were there! Good thing we had the grill!

Sophie & B had a good time too.

Charlie graduated Kindergarten! We are excited for the new adventures and challenges first grade will hold!! Good Luck Charlie~

Free Fish Day.....well, Free (trying to go Fishing) Day.
The A family invited us to join them at the Bountiful Pond to try fishing. NOTHING caught, but cute pictures!

Summer begins with summer school lunch at Washington Elementary and a stop at the playground!

Then Ragnar-few photo highlights!

Jimmy's Great Aunt Mary passed away on June 25th. We love Aunt Mary so much and miss her! We each have special memories with her, and miss her dearly! Here is a really good picture of Jimmy and the kids at the cemetery.

Made it to Eaglewood for fireworks. It gets easier to do things as the kids get older.....like walking to fireworks with no stroller, diaper bag, etc.

Backyard fun.

and TODAY a trip to City Creek.

Utah Baseball

We went to a Utah Baseball game one evening. It was a kids night at the game, so they had face painting, someone doing balloon animals, and some sports teams. Well, it was our crossing guard lady Carol doing the balloon animals! The kids were so excited to see her and get a super cool balloon animal! Fun!

Season's over!

We survived spring sports. We were too busy! Never again will we be this busy! Ashley & Sarah had soccer. Some weeks there was soccer practices or games 6 days of the week! Then add in Charlie and baseball. Wow. We managed but man, it was cRaZy! All sports are over. Ashley will do recreation soccer and possibly try gymnastics. Sarah is on the gold team with Forza again. Sophie will do recreation soccer too. Charlie, don't know what's up for him!

Sweet Sarah

Sarah turned 8 years old and was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was a great, sweet day! Lots of family and friends came to show their love for Sarah, our family, and the Gospel. Sarah got the beautiful dress from Nana Burns, and scriptures from my Grandma (a tradition on my side of the family)! At the baptism, family and friends wrote Sarah a note, and she has this priceless collection of testimonies and words from the friends and family. It means a LOT to me as I can read the words written from many important people, especially from my parents, and grandparents-even GRANDPA! Thanks family & friends!
CTR~Welcome newest member of the church. Welcome to Activity Days!

Happy Birthday Sarah

After one fun away gymnastics meet in Washington, we took advantage of Sarah's birthday to celebrate doing something NEW! We braved Utah County and headed to the Marriott Center for a BYU vs. Utah gymnastics meet. One other team was there, NC State, who wasn't ranked. Utah was ranked no 6 in the country and BYU was in the top 25, I think. Anyways-Ugg to Utah county+ traffic.
TWO cute BYU co-eds joined us, Jimmy's niece Lyndze and my cousin Charlotte meet us at the meet. It was fun to go to another away meet and sit in seats with a different perspective than our seats in the Huntsman Center. BYU did do a good job hosting the meet. My legs hurt from the lack of LEG ROOM of the seats in the Marriott Center. Utah did really well at the meet, which they needed a decent score on the road. Utah got the win! Duh! Of course!

Happy Birthday Sarah. Oh, yeah charlie was about B-O-R-E-D at the meet. Sorry brother!

Utah Gymnastics

Its college gymnastics time! I always bring my camera, but forget to take pictures at the home meet. Here are pix from one of the home meets we went to. GIRLS NIGHT OUT!
