Recreation Session 1 over

Having something first thing in the morning for the past 3 weeks has been exhausting! I have missed having breakfast with my kids! And they were so tired! I was too! We had a performance on Thursday in the park. The recreation program in Woods Cross is great! The price is right, and its simple, and fun. I had a few kids from my singing group there and we did a few songs, and my girls did their dance at the end. Jimmy's parents came to watch. Jimmy couldn't come because he was attending a funeral for a co-worker that passed away from a car accident. Very sad, sudden, and unexpected. But it was great having his parents there. The girls did well, sarah was a little behind on some of the dance moves. But just adorable! Charlie was a good audience member too!
We have session 2 of the rec program to teach singing, and i haven't decided what the girls will do.....maybe tennis for ashley and dance again for sarah.......

Monday Night Swimming

Monday night we went swimming at the South Davis Recreation Center for "family night". We were meeting some friends there. We started out at the kid pool outside. Jimmy helped Charlie get comfortable in the water. Jimmy did really good! It was good dad/son time. When we went inside, both girls wanted to go down the indoor slide, the yellow slide! The girls went down the slide with their dad when we were at the rec center in march. I didn't have a chance to go down it, so I was excited to take the girls down. Ashley and I went down, and whewww......we got going fast! I made sure I didn't go that fast with sarah. I let both girls go under the water at the end, and they survived, and didn't get to upset or scared. The kids had fun. Jimmy and I enjoyed seeing some friends and catching up with them. After swimming, we went to McDonalds for ice cream. The kids again, had fun. Ran around, being silly.....They were exhausted! We got to bed late, and it made for a hard tuesday morning.
Of course, water-camera-and me...not a good combo! so no pictures, but it was fun!

Random update

The girls are awake. We've been very busy with a few things beside the big, exciting posts. The kids and I have been busy with classes for Woods Cross City's Summer Recreation Program. 2 mornings a week I teach a singing class, while the girls are in a Stories and Craft Class. Then after that class the girls attend a Dance/Cheer class. 2 other mornings of the week, Ashley does a kids fitness class, while Sarah does a soccer class, and I push charlie in the stroller for a mom's fitness class. The classes are at the parks in Woods Cross. They are GREAT! It wears me and the kids out. While I teach the singing class, I had a neighbor watch charlie at the park, or he's been chillin by me. It is tiring, but great. It's a great program this year. Its under a new director, and its well worth the costs.
Always trying to keep the house clean....that's normal. I've been a little sick with allergies or a sinus problem. So getting caught up in the house! I play softball on a womens team. A game was last night. We lost again, but it is fun! Wednesday, I played Bunco with some ladies from WX Elem. It was fun to socialize and hear about what's going on at the school. It was a night without the kids!
I needed to view some pictures I had taken of the kids back in April. The photo place was out in Syracuse. So we went to kaysville. I asked my mom if she'd watch the kids while my dad and I went out there on his motorcycle. I had a GREAT time riding on his motorcycle with him. It was exciting! We had helments, and didn't go on the freeway! Whew! It was fun! a good daddy-daughter bonding time. I picked out some pictures and I'll pick them up later. Now my kids want to ride Papa's motorcycle next time we go up there. They'll get a ride around the block, and I'll have my dads camera out and ready!
We/or I am excited for the newest Disney Channel movie to be on TV tonight, Camp Rock. Jimmy has to work late for inventory today, so I hope to make it a fun night for the kids and I watching the movie.

Jimmy's Alaskan Fishing Trip

The Lodge and fish from one day.
Jimmy Fishing, and a picture of their boat.
Jimmy's big catch. over 100 lbs.

Well this is me typing, without Jimmy's suggestions of what to write about his trip. So hopefully this weekend I can get him by the computer.
Jimmy had an amazing time on his Alaskan fishing trip. The days were filled fishing. They were fed yummy food at the lodge. Jimmy claims he gained 10 lbs on the trip. They were exhuasted at the end of the day from fishing. The sun only went down for about 3-4 hours at night. He slept in a room with 3 snorers! He did get sea sick one day when the swells were 8 feet high-i think.
Jimmy and his dad came home with 5 boxes of fish. Each box was 50 lbs. His dad had the biggest catch of the trip. Jim came home with the tail from his fish and will have it mounted. The guys had so much fun and lots of stories to tell. I'll get more up later! Haven't figured out what to do with the fish, and how to cook it up! suggestions anyone?

Post Manti

I negelected the exciting end to the Manti Trip! My sis in law was in the vehicle with me, with my nephew McCaden. Their vehicle was parked up in Kaysville. I didn't want to drive up there, so we were going to kill some time while Lee got the van and met us in the middle of WX and Kaysville. I asked if we could go to Lowes. I wanted a few things, and had a coupon to use! The kids were crazy, tired, smelly and the moms were tired too. I got the things I wanted, and had troubles doing to the self check out. Kids were impatient, so I sent vickie out with 4 kids to the vehicle to wait. Well, the famous "I have to go potty" phrase came out while vickie was getting kids into the suburban. So, kids file out. Well, the lock button was pushed on the remote, and the door closed with the keys inside. GREAT. LUCKILY Lee was coming, and I asked him to go to my house to get Jimmy's keys. I love cell phones! To kill time, we took the kids to Petsmart! They LOVED it! Lee got the keys with no problem, and we unlocked the suburban, and all went home! Wheww! Then I had to unpack the vehicle all by myself.... :( Got the kids bathed, and put to bed, ready to wake them up by 730 to meet dad at the airport! He was coming home!

Manti Slide Show

Manti Trip

Wow! It has been a busy time! I haven't updated my blog in a while, so I hope to get this trip on, then Jimmy's trip, and then a few other things.
Friday, June 13th, I went down to Manti with my parents, my brother Lee and his wife Vickie and family, McCaden, Camden, and Rhylee. We left Friday at noon. I followed my dad down. He was taking his trailer and we were staying at a Camperworld resort. We drove to Nephi, and stopped for lunch. Then we continued our journey to Mt. Pleasant. We got to our camp ground, and got camp set up. The kids did really well on the 2 1/2 hour drive down. All but Ashley slept, and the kids watched a few short videos. After we got there, the kids played at the park while we got the rest of camp set up and dinner started. After dinner we got ready to drive to Manti, just a 30 min drive or so. We found parking and made our way to the temple grounds. We sat really far back, but we could see ok. I was glad we weren't that close to other people, because tired kids are not quiet and do not stay still. We found someone to share their mosquito repellent with us. Dusk=mosquito's. We survived the Mormon Miracle Pageant. It was cold, but we had layers, and blankets, and I was trying to keep two kids content. Sarah slept through most of the pageant on my dads lap. Ashley and Charlie were tired, and we walked around a time or two. The pageant was nice. I didn't catch all the BOM stories that were re-told, but I enjoyed it, and would like to attend it again in a couple of years. It took a while to get out of Manti, and we had to stop for a potty break. Finally at 1am, I laid down in the tent to go to bed. Yes, TENT! There wasn't room in the trailer for my family to sleep, so we bought a tent, and I slept in it with my kids! how FUN! really. The kids were exhausted, so they slept good and stayed warm. I had a ton of blankets on them. Charlie was in the pack-n-play, and the girls in their own sleeping backs, and I was at the door. We left our garbage out during our trip to the pageant. A stray dog had enjoyed our food on the ground and tried to get into the garbage. I called my brother on the cell phone to come scare the dog away, as he was still around our campsite and I COULD NOT fall asleep with it hanging around. My bro put the garbage in the back of the truck, and the dog left, and I fell asleep. The sun woke us up and we were all awake by 7ish. We had breakfast, and took the kids swimming. Lunch, park again and clean up and come home. It was a long trip, but very fun. Everyone except Charlie and I slept on the way home. Charlie has his nap earlier. It was a good trip. Very tiring, but it was fun.

Note from Jimmy

This is from an email from Jimmy.

Here is the fish that dad caught yesterday. This fish is 77 inches long and 234 lbs. HEAVY. I thought dad was going to pass out. It took every ounce of energy for him to pull it up.

New slideshow

I added a slideshow from our camping at Anderson Cove over Memorial Day. Check it out-its at the bottom of the page.
Jimmy is in Alaska for the week. Talked to him while he was at the airport in Juno. We are surviving so far! Busy week! We have stuff in the morning for the citys recreation program. We signed up for a few classes. FUN. I am teaching the singing one.
Thought about going to the Mormon Miracle Pagent in Manti. My parents are going, and I thought I would take the kids and sleep in a tent! yes, I know how to sleep in a tent! They are taking their trailer, and it will be occupied by my sis-in-law Vickie and her kids (McCaden-my fav little nephew).
More updates later. We have a shuffle. Pretty cool to play with too! Thanks Jody for the songs!

Little Happy Things

Well, you noticed I changed my template! I figured out how...we'll see how long I keep it. Lots of Little Things that are happy!

Jimmy is going on a fishing trip to Alaska. He was invited to go on Thursday. He leaves Monday and returns early Sunday morning. He has a lousy flight back, sitting in an airport for a 5 hour layover. He will be going with his dad, whose company buys a lot from Jimmy's company. Wine and dine the customer! They should have fun. They went shopping at Cabellas to get a few things for the trip. I am sure we'll have a fish fry in the future. I don't know how to cook fish!! HELP! Check out the website: WWW.MAJESTICEXPEDITIONS.COM

Jimmy also started playing hockey at the South Davis Rec Center. The summer league started up, and he will have games on Friday nights. Jimmy is also playing poker at a friends house tonight and will have his first ride on the FrontRunner train to get home. We hope to see his grade posted soon from his previous class.

My nephew, McCaden, is over spending the night. The kids played outside while I mowed the front lawn tonight, and they enjoyed a late snack/dinner of popcorn.

So Long Digital Camera

I am sad to say good-bye to my digital camera! I might have to use 35mm film until a new one is purchased. Enclosed on this blog are the last pictures taken with my camera. I should write an obituary for it...hmmm....maybe..
Monday the sun was out here. My girls thought it was warm enough to pull out the little kid swimming pool. They put on their swimsuits, and I pulled the pool out and turned on the hose. I wanted to keep charlie happy, as he was trying to get over Crupe, so outside is a big hit for him. I took a few pictures, while the kids were playing. I then decided I could move some dirt in our yard. Went in the garage and got a little shovel, gloves, and a little bucket. When I exited the garage, I noticed my sarah carrying my digital camera away from the pool. I asked her what she was doing, and she told me charlie had my camera. Well, the Mr. Hell on Wheels, walked to the steps, got my camera and put it in the water. yelling followed....clean up, everyone inside the house and leave mom alone.
After numerous attemps to rescue my camera, it's lost! my memory card survived. I don't know about the batteries, but gone!! SAD! so, my blog might be picture-less for a while!

Weekend

The weekend wasn't that exciting. Charlie had a fever part of Friday. He wasn't feeling good all weekend. Sick kid! I stayed home from church with him on Sunday, then took him to KidsCare. He has Croup. A viral infection of the upper respiratory tract. A steroid can be given to open the airway, and he got a dose of that while at KidsCare. My boy didn't like the medicine the first time and threw it up. The doctor wasn't pleased with that. The nurse came in, and was determined to get the medicine down, and she did!
Charlie still has the cough, and is staying hydrated. He's eaten a little more today, and talking more, but we are not through this sickness yet.
