Ice Cream on Veterans Day!

Ice Cream!

I had some coupons for free ice cream cones so we used them on Veterans Day with my parents. They enjoyed lunch together at Texas Roadhouse (free for Veterans) then saved a little room and time for us & ice cream! It was a fun little trip for the kids & my parents.

Field Trip to Cemetery

AFTER the flag ceremony, Ashley's class had a field trip to the city cemetery to hear the founders of our city talk. People were at different headstones and talked about them settling in Bountiful. It was very interesting to me! I enjoyed it. Sophie slept through most of it in the stroller! PERFECT! It was a nice field trip!

Then Ashley was SO proud to show her friends from her class where her Great Grandpa is buried. So we sneaked down there, and saw her Great Grandpa Burn' headstone.

Then we walked back to the school!

What a fun date.

Bountiful Elementary held a small flag ceremony on Veterans Day. Veterans were invited to attend, so Papa Jack came down to join us. It was small, simple, but memorable. I am thankful to have my dad around. He is a veteran of the US Army. I am thankful for his military service for our country.
It was a bright morning!

There was one other veteran there. Here is a picture of the elementary kids, the two veterans in attendance, and the principal.

Jimmy out the door....to RUN?

Jimmy signed up for a 5K in November. It was down in Sandy and a co-worker wanted to do it, so Jimmy signed up. This picture was taken as he was walking out the door. FRESH SNOW that Saturday morning! Lucky! He did well as did the co-worker. GO JIMMY! (Ragnar is in JUNE!! KEEP RUNNING BABE!)

Halloween Fun

The kids didn't have school on Halloween. We were able to enjoy a few trunk-or-treats in the late afternoon. The weather was AMAZING-warm=LOVELY!

My dad came down & went to the trunk-or-treats with us. Thanks Pops!

Nap time......great.

This is the only shot I have of the kids together on Halloween.

I made Charlie's costume. LOVE IT. It felt so good to make his costume! Yellow duct tape! pretty cheap!

Charlie got sick after the trunk-or-treats, so he didn't get to see Aunt Mary or go out trick or treating in the neighborhood.

We enjoyed plenty of candy and a good Halloween-except charlie getting sick.....

Carve pumpkins

I lost a few pictures....they are somewhere.....oh well. When I find them they might make it on the blog.....

Meanwhile-on the eve of Halloween, I carved pumpkins with Ashley & Sarah. They were NOT fans of the pumpkin guts. But we did it! No one got hurt and we will do it again next year, but not be as surprised about the guys.

I enjoyed roasting the pumpkin seeds! YUM.

Jimmy's Trip to San Fran

(YIKES-STILL BEHIND in blogging all the coolest things we've been up too! Its the end of December. Lets see if I can catch up---)

Jimmy planned with some friends to go to San Francisco to watch the University of Utah play the California Bears in college football. His friend Matt, and Carl & Cynthia Dixon went. They planned the trips for months, and decided to fly versus drive. (We enjoyed fall break-sure Jimmy goes to play for the weekend while I play mom!) They enjoyed some sight-seeing in San Francisco. They went to the Utah Football game, but Utah LOST. Bummer. yeah.

Here are some of his pictures from the trip.
