Other summer highlights

Riding the train into The Gateway for school shopping. Jimmy is happy, I promise!

Sometimes those two like each other. Cute picture of them talking while waiting for the train.

A 40th birthday party for Jimmy's friend Matt (red shirt)

Since when did we have an apple tree in our yard? New discovery this summer, but can't really reach the apples. Can you see them? No wonder the deer like our yard, free apples!

School lunch

I really love the free summer lunch program each year. It only lasts about 2 months, and we make it half the time, but oh, when we make it, it's great. We invite friends, or see friends there. We play at the playground or not. It's good. Less dishes, saves $$, socialization for the kids, practice for my first grader going thru a lunch line, gets us dressed by at least 11:30! The kitchen stays cleaner! Come on! Why don't more people enjoy it as much as me! :)

Attic insulation

Who is excited for attic insulation?! We are! Hope the power bill will go down! I have before and after video, but maybe you will be bored with it!

Swim at Aunt Tammy's!

Summer isn't complete without a few trips to Aunt Tammy's pool! The kids always have fun there!

Summer pix from the cell phone!

I take so many pictures with my phone, I might as well update the blog with phone pictures! Get ready!

Friends at the park!

Summer Concert
WX Summer literacy. Sarah was a Low pressure in the weather demonstration.

Children's Parade for the 24th of July celebration. We were pioneers. It was a 3 block walk. We made in on TV. Did it.

Farmington Festival Days Race

We love the Farmington Festival Days celebration in July. Love the town, love the parade, love my family that comes out to it. This year, Ashley and Sarah did the 5k Saturday morning. I supervised the girls, or ran with them. Ashley took off after the half way point and finished slightly ahead of us. I was proud of them for doing it without really 'training'. I feel my kids are healthy and active, and this shows we are doing okay!
It was exciting that Sarah placed in her age group! 2nd place! Go Sarah! Other family members placed too, so it was fun for the entire family!
Then breakfast and the parade! Love the day!

Gatrell crew! 3 generations running the race! Go us!

My cousin Daryl is the "D". LOVE Davis, LOVE the marching band!

Super Quick & Super Big & Super Cool post

Highlights from post Memorial Day to today-more to come.....I hope......

Grandpa Jack joined me at Antelope Island for a field trip for Ashley's class. Ashley's fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Thayne retired at the end of this school year, and this was one last going away party for her. I supplied the grill to cook the hot dogs. Ashley INSISTED we do it! It was a fun trip out there. Windy! Seagulls! But it was good!

Only a 100+ hot dogs were consumed by the two 4th grade classes and families/chaperone's that were there! Good thing we had the grill!

Sophie & B had a good time too.

Charlie graduated Kindergarten! We are excited for the new adventures and challenges first grade will hold!! Good Luck Charlie~

Free Fish Day.....well, Free (trying to go Fishing) Day.
The A family invited us to join them at the Bountiful Pond to try fishing. NOTHING caught, but cute pictures!

Summer begins with summer school lunch at Washington Elementary and a stop at the playground!

Then Ragnar-few photo highlights!

Jimmy's Great Aunt Mary passed away on June 25th. We love Aunt Mary so much and miss her! We each have special memories with her, and miss her dearly! Here is a really good picture of Jimmy and the kids at the cemetery.

Made it to Eaglewood for fireworks. It gets easier to do things as the kids get older.....like walking to fireworks with no stroller, diaper bag, etc.

Backyard fun.

and TODAY a trip to City Creek.
