Team Burns

Last Saturday, Team Burns ran in the Sandy City 5K Turkey Trot. Team Burns consisted of Jimmy, Marla, Ashley, Sarah, Charlie, Connie (Jimmy's mom) and Jody (Jimmy's sister). I ran the race, while everyone else walked. The 5K course was nice and enjoyable. We started at one park, ran in a neighborhood, then on a trail to another park, and turned around and came back. I finished with my best 5K time, dropping almost a minute off my time from September! I was happy! I finished 5th for my age group.
After I finished, I had to go find the rest of Team Burns! So I walked back on the course, and found them! The girls had walked or ran the entire route! 3+ miles! Wow! Jimmy, Connie, and Jody stayed with them. Charlie was even out of the stroller enjoying the walk. As we came to the end, I jogged to the finish with the girls. The rest of Team Burns finished in 55 minutes. It was really a GREAT morning. The weather was cool, but really a perfect morning! Ashley complained of sore muscles the next day, and the kids were plenty tires, but well worth the time and money!

10-0 University of Utah Utes

Thursday night was a thrilling Utah victory against Texas Christain University. Utah won the game with a winning drive with the under 3 minutes of the game! Oh! My head hurt from screaming soo much! Whew! A victory! I've loved the football games with my hubby this year! Its our date, and its great! (ha that rhymes!)

I am luvin the #7 BCS ranked UTES! Here are a few pix from the game!! Beautiful cold football weather, but we bundeled up! Oh, the second best thing of the night (Utah's victory was the first) was the line for the MENS restroom. It was SOO LONG during half time! I've never seen so many men waiting to use the restroom! I couldn't tell what line was for the concessions and what line was for the MENS restroom! Ladies! That made me happy! *Oh there was NO line for the womens restroom at that time!

No smiles before the game! My husband just loves pictures!

I love the band! Final score

No, we didn't storm the field! (not this time!)

Ahh! I get a smile! My husband is ready to smile after that stunning win!

Happy Halloween

Halloween was busy, but good! Pictures are from our ward Halloween Party, trunk or treat in Bountiful, Ashley's school Halloween party, neighborhood Halloween party, and Halloween night-trick or treating and visiting (Great) Aunt Mary. I looked pretty cool in my University of Utah jersey! I was questioned if I played ball at the U, in my dreams! I was a band nerd at the U! :)
Two other moms & I dressed up as Three Blind Mice for the school party! We looked good.....Lots of Fun!

Happy 90th Birthday Grandma B

The last few posts have totally been out of order, but I had to mention Jimmy's Grandma. Sarah C. Burns celebrated her 90th birthday this month . There was an open house to celebrate this special date. Grandma B (as we call her) is very important to the Burns family. We named our second daughter Sarah after her. With time, I have learned to love Grandma B only more. Grandma B is a strong woman, despite her health ups & downs lately. I know she has a strong testimony of the Savior, and family is extremely important to her. Grandma B has made countless blankets for grandkids and great-grandkids, oh and even her own grown, adult-kids. The blankets we have from her are priceless and just beautiful. Grandma B has done many amazing things in her life, raised a family, served a mission with her sweetheart, served in many church callings, and in the temple for many years. She has a big heart for others.

I love how Grandma B loves my kids. My kids see her weekly, and almost every visit, they go sit on her lap, and she reads them stories. She invest time with my children that is priceless. The time she spends with them is only creating positive memories for my kids. She does little things likes shares her bananas, crackers, and muffins with my kids, which may sound small, but the little things in life matter.

Jimmy has a whole lifetime full of memories with his precious grandma. She took Jimmy on many trips and outings when he and his siblings were younger. He loves her, and I know it and see it often.

I LOVE YOU GRANDMA B, and I love the little visits, and the times we spend together.

Clinic #3

Oh, I have been slow at updating the blog! Whew! I attended my last Women's Football Clinic at the University of Utah. It was great! The best was saved for last, the DEFENSE! Players from the Defensive line came in, and goodness, they were FUNNY! They are a close group of guys, and you could tell, yet they work hard! Questions were asked, and good answers were given...SO MUCH fun, neat info, good comments and I can't remember it all..... The equipment manager came in and talked about equipment. That was very interesting too! All the little things, from the price of equipment, how different the equipment is, how they set up for games, etc....Really neat. It closed with the Defensive Coordinator, Gary Anderson, talking to us. Oh, he is one smart, sharp guy. Very impressive, and kinda intimidating. But very, very neat. It was great! Loved all three clinics! Very worth the money, and I am doing it next year! I've heard of a few other ladies that want to do it next year! (I should probably make a list, so I don't forget anyone!) Thanks to my neighbor and new friend, Cami, for going with me!

Here are a few pix....

Mini Mandonelle Clinic

Both girls were able to be a mini Mandonelle at Bountiful High School. (This is Jimmy's school, so they loved being a Brave!) They had a practice during the week, practiced before the football game, and performed at half time of the football game. They had fun! I thought Sarah was going to explode she was soo happy to do such a big girl thing! Ashley got the dance moves pretty good, Sarah was a count or two behind. Good job girls!

Fire station Field Trip

Sarah's preschool class had a field trip to the fire station. The kids had fun!

Do I need to explain?

My son was left alone. The fridge wasn't locked.
Do I need to explain?
He did put the sticks back in the fridge. Gotta give him credit for that.
(His hands were dirty from playing with ink & stamps earlier in the day.)
