Fall Harvest

Ashley took these pictures of the garden in September. She made a photography entry for her school's PTA relfections contest. (can't wait for the results-did she win anything?)

We enjoyed lots of time in the garden this year. It was great to go out & pick fresh corn, carrots, beets, peppers, tomatoes, and cantelope from the garden this year. I love the fact that my kids actually help plant, weed, and water the garden.

We LOVE having our own pumpkins to pick too! (BTW-future blog post-we just carved some pumpkins tonite! FUN!)

The first frost has happened, so now, no more fresh tomoatoes! And now its time to clean up the garden for next spring!

The last ones......

By the end of June, we were probally the LAST people to plant a garden. Here is the picture after we spent one Saturday morning planting the garden spot. Now it is full of plants that are growing and weeds (ugg...but I am pulling them-the kids help too). Corn, pumpkins, bell peppers, watermelon, cantelope, and carrots.

We have enjoyed some fresh peas. We keep trying to pull a carrot up, and the deer have eaten the tomato plants. Its fun to help out in the garden!
